Karl E. Kuhn, Counsel

Karl E. Kuhn started his legal career with Bingham McCutchen and spent five years in the firm's Los Angeles office practicing primarily in the areas of corporate transactions, securities, finance, and insolvency. Prior to joining Robertson + Thommarson, Karl was an associate in the corporate department of Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman's Los Angeles Office.

Karl has represented technology, retail, manufacturing, and healthcare companies as well as private equity funds and venture capital groups. This representation has included mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and capitalization, private placements, reorganization, reincorporation, recapitalization, corporate governance, equity incentive plans, secured financing transactions, and other general corporate matters.

Karl received his B.S. in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He received his J.D. cum laude from Syracuse University, College of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Syracuse Law and Technology Journal. In addition, Karl interned for the Syracuse University Technology Transfer Research Center where he worked with technology driven organizations, including Welch Allyn and the Licensing Executives Society. Karl externed for the Honorable Frederick J. Scullin, Jr., U.S. District Court (Northern District of New York).

Karl is admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Business and Corporations Law Section. Karl has also served as a pro bono lawyer for Public Counsel and as a member on the Associates Advisory Board of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
